Week 6 term 3

Week 6

We hope all our kākano families are having a lovely weekend.  Even though our

cross country race has been postponed until term 4 we are still training every

morning (weather permitting).  It is great that the kākano teachers can see improved fitness levels among all the children.

Grandparents Day

Just a heads up to your families. We are celebrating Grandparents Day on Friday 28th October at 9.00 am. We have Andrew Chinn here on that day too so we are hoping he will join us at Mass. Andrew Chinn writes many of the songs that we sing

at school and is such a talented musician. He visits us every few years and the students have a wonderful day singing with him.

Next Week

I am away this week in Christchurch as my son is playing in the Nationals Competition for Rugby. Marion Britts who the children in Kakano 1 know very well is filling in for me. I have left everything planned and she will have a wonderful time with your child. If for any reason you need to contact me just email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Look at  “Operation Christmas Child Videos 2022” which has some inspiring videos and ideas.

Art Provocations

This week we continue with art provocations in the morning,  The children have been creating some amazing artwork.  Provocations in the morning provide the children to try a range of different art principles.

We always need boxes, bottle caps, yoghurt containers.  It is a great way to reuse your recycling so the children can explore different types of art.  Think of our classroom before filing your recycling bin.

The children have been training for this event and are looking forward to running this Friday.  We will get started at 11:20.  The children will need their PE gear or a pair of shorts and Tshirt.

We need lots of parent help for marshalling the track to make this a great event for our children.  If you can help can you please email your child's teacher and be at school at 11:10
