Week 3 Term 4

 Week 3

What an amazing day we had on Friday with Andrew Chinn joining us. He was blown away by the singing during our Grandparent’s Mass - he stopped singing himself during one of the songs so he could just enjoy hearing the children sing. We had a great workshop with him and the afternoon concert got everyone involved, smiling, singing and dancing along to the songs. Thank you to all

parents who were very generous with providing some lovely treats for morning

tea. It was wonderful to have so many grandparents and grandfriends join us.

Thank you for having the children in their summer uniforms. Some mornings are still cold so they may need jerseys.  Please make sure that your child has their sunhat every day.  St Mary’s has the rule - no hat, no play.  So if they do not

have a hat, they need to sit in the shade.  All items of school uniform need to be named please.

A gentle reminder that school starts at 8:45. If your child arrives after this time, they will need to report to the school office to be recorded as present but late.

From Mrs Holmes - Student Returning to school

Kia ora whanau,

We have a student returning to school on Monday who has had cancer.  He has been away since 2021. His immunity has been compromised due to the treatment he has received and

he is particularly susceptible to chickenpox and measles.

Any cases of chickenpox or measles, in the school community, needs to be reported to the school office immediately to ensure his health is not compromised. He is looking forward to coming back to school as are his friends.

Swimming

There is no swimming for all kakano classes over the next two weeks. The

middle and senior school children have instructors coming in to take them for Make the Difference swimming lessons.

to a busy and fun Term 4 with the children.

Uniform

Students are to start Term 4 in full summer uniform. Our Uniform Shop is open Mondays

We also sell school uniforms via our school website. Fantastic Fundraising

The effort and enthusiasm from students has been fantastic and we’ve had a great start to our big fundraiser for the year, as we were unable to hold a Gala Day.

Can your child come up with ideas to help them fundraise - chores, helping a neighbour in the garden, and I am sure there are many more ideas they can think of.

Please keep sharing your child's link

Go to schoolfunrun.co.nz, share your online fundraising link via SMS, Email and Social Media. If someone would like to sponsor your child and give them cash, they can do this.  Please take the money to the office, with your child's name and room number and we will be able to add the amount to their profile.

THANK YOU! For the support we have received from everyone.  It isn’t too late to make a profile for your child if you haven’t done one yet.
